Marvin T. Bush, DMD


Dr. BushDr. Bush was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. He received his Undergraduate degree from University of Kentucky. As well as his DMD from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1979. During his college years, Dr. Bush's two daughters were born. After graduating from Dental School, he moved his family to Pikeville were he set up his current practice.

Dr. Bush has taken numerous courses in all phases of dentistry including pediatric, cosmetic, orthodontic, endodontic (root canal therapy), periodontal (gum treatment), dental implants, infection control and sterilization, and sedation dentistry. He received his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998 and his Mastership in the Academy in 2003. The Academy of General Dentistry is an international organization of 35,000 general dentists. Earning the Fellowship Award means completing more than 500 hours of continuing education courses within 10 years and passing a rigorous fellowship examination. Mastership in the Academy requires an additional 600 course hours. The Academy is not a requirement, but a commitment to continuing dental education and to giving patients the best possible care.

• Las Vegas Institute - top ranked cosmetic and reconstructive courses

• Sedation Dentistry - I.V. certification classes at University of Kentucky

• D.O.C.S. - Oral Conscious Sedation

Dr. Bush is a member of the Pikeville Chamber of Commerce. His professional memberships include the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, Crown Council, the Mountain Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Bush enjoys fishing, golf, hunting, gardening, snowskiing, and cooking.
